25-year-old found hanging in her hostel room of FTII - second suicide in a month
A 25-year-old woman died by suicide while studying in the third year of the PG diploma course in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). The deceased, Kamakshi Bohara, from Uttarakhand was found hanging in her hostel room. The police said that Bohara left no suicide note. Recently, another student, Ashwin Anurag Shukla (32) from FTII was on medicines for some psychological problems. He was found hanging in his hostel room.
According to information, the deceased attended her lectures regularly. On Thursday afternoon, her professor got suspicious when she didn't show up and sent some students to her hostel room to check. Students knocked on her door, but she did not open it. When the security guard arrived, the door was broken open and Bohara was found hanging.
Doctors and police were informed about the incident. Further, Bohara's parents were also informed about the incident. The Deccan is investigating the case.
