IPC Section 325 - Punishment For Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt

Whoever, except in the case provided for by section 334, voluntarily causes grievous hurt to any person shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Suppose any person intentionally causes very serious harm/injury to another using a sharp object, deadly weapon, or fire. In that case, such a person is said to be “voluntarily causing grievous hurt”. Such an act is punishable with prison time of up to 7 years and a fine.
