Recently, a 22-year-old person belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community jumped from the second floor of a building, escaping bouncers who were beating him up. The incident took place at The Bar Heist Hotel, where the deceased, Abhay Gondane, and his partner Mannat Shaikh were attending a party organised for the community.

Satyawan Mane, the senior police inspector of Wakad police station, informed that Shaikh and Gondane were at an event organised by the Mist LGBTQ Foundation. After the party, Shaikh got into a fight with the owner of the hotel. The owner summoned the bouncers to beat Shaikh, after which Abhay intervened.  Abhay was beaten up by bouncers after being taken out of the club and Shaikh was knocked unconscious by the assault.

The complainant claimed that her friend was left alone, drenched in blood for two hours. She also said that she was held captive by the hotel staff while bouncers were attacking her friend outside.

Gondane was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead due to severe injuries.
