In a breakthrough in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala, the Punjab police have confirmed that two out of the eight sharpshooters belonged to Pune.

The duo has been identified as Saurav Mahakal and Santosh Jadhav.

Jadhav has a criminal history of five cases, including a murder registered against him. He has been on the run since the alleged murder of criminal Omkar alias Ranya Bankhele in 2021. Pune rural police have been on the lookout for Jadhav for months.

The other sharpshooter, Mahakal, has no previous criminal record.

On May 29, Moosewala was killed at Jawaharke village in Mansa district. The Punjab police formed a special investigation team (SIT) and on the investigation, it was found that the assailants belong to Punjab, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The Punjab police conducted a raid in Pune after the culprits were identified on CCTV camera footage collected by the SIT.
