71 Kids Rescued by RPF from the Clutches of Traffickers Since January 2022 - Pune
The Railway Protection Force (RPF), between January to April 2022, has rescued 71 children from the Pune division. The rescue includes 50 boys and 21 girls. To rescue the kids who have been separated from their families, the railway ministry has launched 'Operation Nanhe Farishte'.
With the help of the Government, Railway police and other frontline railway staff from railway station platforms, the RPF team has rescued a total of 504 children from different railway stations in the State of Maharashtra on the Central railway line between January to April 2022. The rescued children are reunited with their families with the help of different NGOs.
The trained RPF personnel found the children who come to the stations without informing their parents, or due to some quarrel or in search of a better life. This trained RPF personnel understands these children's problems and counsels them to reunite with their families.
This year, the highest number of rescues were from the Mumbai division by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) where 285 children, including 203 boys and 79 girls were rescued.
The RPF has launched "Operation AAHT" (Action Against Human Trafficking) to take stern action against human trafficking through rail.
The Central Railway RPF rescued a total of 471 children from different railway stations last year.
