A 14-YEAR-OLD STABBED OVER ONE-SIDED LOVE IN BIBWEWADI, PUNE
After a recent incident of rape of a minor girl by 14 men, now a 14-year-old girl was mercilessly murdered at a crowded place in Bibwewadi. The kabaddi player was practising with her friends near Yash Lawns and was stabbed several times by her attacker over some disagreements.
The minor regularly visited the ground near Yash Lawns to practice. On Tuesday, while she was practising Kabadi, youth and few other friends approached the victim and her friends. During the conversation, the boy had an argument with the victim and, out of anger, attacked her. The assailant repeatedly stabbed her in the neck. Witnessing the horrifying incident, several people fled the scene.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone III) Namrata Patil said that the deceased was a Class VIII student and the accused, Shubham Bhagwat, a 22-year-old relative of the victim. Following the murder, the accused and his friends threatened the victim's friends and ran away from the crime scene. The Police further said that as per the primary investigation, it is a matter of one-sided love. The family of the victim were also aware of the boy's interest in the deceased. As per the family, they have several times warned the boy.
The cops recovered a toy gun from the crime scene. Nonetheless, they have sent it to the forensic team. The suspected trio are registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The Police have started a manhunt to nab the fugitives.
