ADVOCATE SAGAR MHASKE WAS ARRESTED FOR GIVING SHELTER TO AN ACCUSED - PUNE

On Thursday night, the Crime Branch arrested Advocate Sagar Mhaske under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act for housing an accused who self-proclaimed himself as a Right to Information Activist. Ravindra Barhate, a self-proclaimed RTI activist, has been named in land grabbing and cheating cases. Barhate was arrested for grabbing several citizen's lands, threatening and taking away their land. The police were on the radar trying to identify people who sheltered him, contacted him, and liked his social media posts. He was absconding for over a year on charges of fraud, land grabbing and ransom. 

It was revealed that he was hiding near Alandi Devachi in Mhaske's house. Mhaske sheltered Barhate for 1 year. The police also arrested Mhaske and Barhate's wife & son on suspension of involvement in the conspiracy.
