New Delhi: A court said no to bail for a Delhi University law student. This case involves a clash between two student groups. Prince and Priyam Sharma, who lead Law Center-II as president and secretary, were at the center of this fight in May.
On August 13 additional sessions judge (ASJ) Shefali Sharma ruled against giving bail to Sharma.

She explained that the complainant had named Sharma as one of the attackers.
They also spotted him in the CCTV footage. The judge noted that the police haven't filed the chargesheet yet. The court also looked at possible tampering with Manvendra Singh's medical report about his head injury. The judge called this is a big problem and told a high-ranking police officer to oversee the investigation.

Looking at the CCTV footage, the judge saw Sharma in a white shirt holding a lathi. The video shows him hitting the complainant. The Delhi High Court expressed worry about a law student's involvement in such actions. The ASJ remarked, “The applicant is a law student himself and should have abided by the law, rather than taking the law into his own hands" On July 9, the high court rejected Sharma's request for anticipatory bail. The court also stated that if granted bail, he would target the complainant. Mukherjee Nagar police station filed an FIR against Sharma and eight others. The charges included an attempt to commit culpable homicide causing hurt on purpose wrongful restraint, and common intention. This happened after Singh filed a complaint.

The FIR said that Sharma and his group attacked Singh and his two friends with lathi and hockey sticks. This occurred around 11 pm on May 22 in Vijay Nagar. It followed a fight between two student groups on May 21, which was "settled" that same day. The court also pointed out inconsistencies in the investigation officer's status reports. At first, these reports said Sharma wasn't visible in the CCTV footage. Later, the IO claimed that due to his head injury, Singh couldn't name or identify all the accused right away.
