In a bold accusation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted on Thursday that the BJP-led Central government aimed to arrest him to impede his campaign efforts for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Despite the serious allegations, Kejriwal emphasized his willingness to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as long as legally valid summons were issued.

While addressing an online press briefing, Kejriwal stated, "My lawyers have told me that the ED summons are illegal. The BJP wants to arrest me to stop me from campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls." This follows his evasion of three previous summons by the ED regarding a money laundering case associated with an alleged liquor scam.

Kejriwal vehemently dismissed the accusations related to the liquor scam, branding it as "fake" and criticizing probe agencies for failing to produce any evidence of corruption over the past two years. He passionately defended his integrity, claiming, "My biggest asset is my honesty, and the BJP wants to hurt my honesty with fake cases. I have always fought for the country, every breath of mine, every drop of my blood is dedicated to the country."

Rejecting claims of an excise policy scam and maintaining the innocence of AAP leaders currently in jail, Kejriwal accused the BJP of misusing probe agencies for political motives. "Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Vijay Nair are not in jail because they were involved in corruption but because they did not join the BJP. We are able to fight them because we have not been involved in corruption," he asserted.

In response, the BJP criticized Kejriwal, accusing him of evading the ED probe like a "fugitive." Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated, "They have committed theft and corruption, and now they are creating a ruckus." The political skirmish between Kejriwal and the BJP sets the stage for a contentious lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls, with allegations and counter-allegations dominating the narrative.
