CHHATTISGARH HIGH COURT STAYS DEPARTMENT ACTION AGAINST LADY POLICE SUB-INSPECTOR

22nd November, 2020

The Chhattisgarh High Court has passed a stay order against departmental action initiated against a woman sub-inspector for alleged negligence of duty in the maintenance of documents.

The sub-inspector has been working as the stenographer to the Director General of Police. She was posted to the Police Housing Board.

When an allegation of negligence of duty in maintaining records of employees was leveled against her, a departmental action was initiated against her.

In the petition filed before the high court, challenging the investigation being conducted against her, the sub-inspector claimed that she was not officially given any responsibility by the department.

The petitioner made a complaint against the Additional Director General of Police Pawan Dev to the Women’s Commission. In this, she has accused of sexual abuse and mental torture. It is alleged that departmental action is being taken against the petitioner after her complaint.
