CJI Chandrachud Advocates Fraternity and Dignity for National Progress

Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud stressed the importance of brotherhood and fraternity for the nation's progress during an event in Bikaner, Rajasthan, as part of the 'Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman Campaign.' CJI Chandrachud emphasized the need for people to practice fraternity in their personal lives, stating that infighting hinders the country's advancement. He urged citizens to treat individuals ranked lower than them with dignity, giving examples from daily life.

The year-long campaign, aimed at creating awareness about the Constitution and legal rights, aligns with the CJI's call for promoting constitutional values in personal and professional spheres. CJI Chandrachud commended the Department of Justice and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal for their efforts in the campaign. He highlighted the State's role in educating people about the Constitution and underlined the reciprocal nature of rights and duties outlined in the Constitution.

Addressing advancements in courtroom technology, the CJI noted the positive impact of video-conferencing, leading to increased participation of women lawyers. He emphasized the social change brought about by technology, making court proceedings more accessible for women managing domestic responsibilities. CJI Chandrachud also stressed the importance of writing judgments in simple language to enhance public understanding of court procedures and ensure justice reaches all citizens.
