Complaint Filed Before The Human Rights Commission Against A Man Urinating On A Tribal Youth
A complaint has been lodged with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) regarding an incident in Madhya Pradesh where a tribal youth was allegedly subjected to humiliation when a man urinated on him. The complaint was filed by Bhimana Gowda Pargonda, a lawyer from Belagavi and the legal department secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
The incident is said to have occurred in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. A viral video shows a member of the tribal community sitting on the roadside, while an individual named Pravesh Shukla, reportedly the perpetrator, appears to urinate on him while smoking.
On July 5, Wednesday, Pargonda submitted a complaint to the NHRC through online channels. According to reports, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Furthermore, in response, the MP CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, directed the police to invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against the accused. The authorities have taken swift action, with the accused being apprehended late last night.
Expressing his strong condemnation of the incident, the State's Home Minister, Narottam Mishra, stated, "The incident is reprehensible and a shame on humanity. If there is any encroachment by the accused, bulldozer action will be taken." In line with this, the local administration has reportedly demolished the accused's property, considering it an illegal encroachment.
