After an astonishing six-minute speech at Washington's Kennedy Centre in the United States of America, Vir Das found himself facing multiple complaints about his allegedly inflammatory statements made in the video.

In the video, Das spoke about issues such as the farmers' protests, India's response to Covid-19, rape, and the crackdown on comedians in the nation.

One of the complaints filed before the Mumbai Police states, "The issues are wilfully spelling derogatory statements against the Prime Minister of India is the biggest threat to India that he did fraud regarding the Prime Minister Care Funds and he is not able to get information regarding the same."

Advocate Ashutosh Dubey, the complainant, stated that the statements made by Das appear to create an atmosphere of threat and fear. He filed an FIR under the IPC as he felt "it necessary to take appropriate action."

Another complainant, Vikash Agarwal from Mumbai, said that "Vir Das should be hanged to death, and no one should have the courage to do such a thing against the Country. Being a citizen of the country, it's my duty to register a case against him."

Two other complaints were also filed in Delhi by BJP spokesperson Aditya Jha and by one Vivekanand Gupta. BJP spokesperson Jha stated that "Vir Das attempted to tarnish the image of the country and honor of the women of the country by making indecent remarks."
