DIG SUSPENDED IN TENDER SCAM DENIED ADVANCE BAIL BY ALLAHABAD HIGH COURT

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of suspended DIG, trapped in a multi core tender scam in the State Animal Husbandry Department.
According to the prosecution, the tender scam was revealed in the month of June. On June 13, Indore-based businessman Manjit Singh Bhatia alias Rinku filed an FIR at Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow.
In this case, 10 accused were named. The accused are charged of cheating Rs 9 crore 72 lakh 12 thousand in the name of contract for supply of wheat, flour, sugar and lentils etc. with pseudonymous documents.
The Petitioner is accused of intimidating, threatening and getting the signature of the victim on a plain sheet of paper. He was Superintendent of Police in CBCID at that time. In return, the alleged thugs gave him large sums of money
