3rd March
“Disagreeing with the views and opinion of the government will not attract the offence of sedition. Expressing views and opinions different from the opinion of the government will also not amount to sedition,” the Supreme Court observed.
The Supreme Court bench - Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hemant Gupta rejected the petition seeking action against former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on his views on abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution filed by Rajat Sharma (secretary and trustee of Vishwa Guru India Vision of Sardar Patel) and Dr Neha Srivastava.
