A division bench of Gujrat High Court passed judgment in the case of Twinkle Rahul Mangaonkar vs Union of India, has considered the provisions in Rules 1 and 2 of the Bar Council of Gujarat (Enrollment) Rules and therefore allowing candidates who possess holds a law degree and at the same time are working in some other vocation or are involved in some other business, trade or profession can register themselves with the Bar Council of Gujrat.

Such a person will also be eligible to enrol themselves in the All India Bar Examination. This order has arrived because the applicant did not have any other source of income and hence could not take the risk of quitting her previous job before getting herself enrolled with the State Bar Council.
