Recently, in the Shirur taluka of Pune, a woman along with her child aged around 4.5 was found dead in a well. An Accidental Death Report was registered at Shirur police station, however, during the investigation, the police found the woman's clothes abandoned on the nearby sugarcane farm and started investigating the matter.

 

A police team detained the woman's husband, who later confessed to the crime. Yogesh Sambhaji Kurhade, a 22-year-old, was arrested from a village in the Shirur taluka. It was revealed that Yogesh killed his wife Rupali Kurhade (22) and child Kartik Kurhade (4.5 months) by pushing them into the well. 

 

The incident took place on August 6 and came to light on August 8 after localities noticed the dead bodies in the well. Police registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Shirur police station following a complaint by the woman's father. 

 

The accused was produced before the court, where the court sent him to police custody till August 20.
