IS THE ALLOCATION OF DISABLED PEOPLE IN PETROL PUMPS DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RIGHTS OF THE PERSON WITH DISABILITIES ACT, 2016? - DELHI HC

Delhi HC asked the Centre whether the allocation of disabled people in petrol pumps was being done in accordance with the Rights of the person with The Disabilities Act, 2016.
HC heard a petition by Deepti Lenka, who suffers from 75% visual impairment. Her grievance was that she was not being considered for allocation of a petrol pump. She complained to the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities but was rejected. However, the commissioner recommended that the respondents consider reframing their policy.
Justice Pratibha Singh asked the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Ministry of Social Justice & empowerment to file a counter-affidavit on whether a policy has been framed for disabled people in petrol pumps under the person's rights Disabilities Act, 2016. Hindustan petroleum corporation Ltd has also been asked to file a counter-affidavit within 6 weeks.
