KANGANA RANAUT AND SISTER RANGOLI CHANDEL MOVES SC SEEKING TRANSFER OF THREE CRIMINALS CASES AGAINST THEM/

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel are prosecuted in 3 criminal cases and approached the Supreme Court seeking to transfer these cases to Himachal Pradesh.

The Petition states that they were harassed in many instances by the Maharashtra Government that is led by Shiv Sena, referring to the statement made by Shiv Sena and member of parliament - Sanjay Raut. Hence, claiming that there is a threat to their life and property if the trial continues in Maharashtra. Lastly, the petition stated that they have immense faith in the judiciary of this country.

The petition filed seeks transfer of the below-mentioned cases:

1. Advocate Ali Kashif Khan filed a criminal complaint against Kangana Ranaut for creating disharmony between Hindus and Muslims by her tweets before the Andheri Magistrate Court.
2. Javed Akhtar filed Criminal defamation under section 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code against Kangana Ranaut for making defamatory marks against him during an interview on Republic TV.
3. Casting director Munawar Ali Sayyed filed sedition charges against Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel. Sayyed alleged that they are trying to create communal tension and hatred between Hindus and Muslims through social media.
