On Wednesday, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and daughter Misa Bharti in connection with the land-for-job scam case. The accused were required to provide a personal bail bond of ₹50,000 with one surety each and were ordered not to interfere with the evidence or try to influence the witnesses.

The judge also directed them to deposit their passports and not to leave the country without the Court's permission. All of the accused appeared before the Court after they were summoned on February 27, following an investigation that suggested they may have committed offenses under the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.

This case is about alleged improper job appointments in the Railways in exchange for land given to Lalu Prasad's family when he was the Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.

The CBI claims that the appointments were not made following the guidelines established by the Indian Railways for hiring. On October 10, 2022, the CBI filed a charge sheet against 16 people, including Prasad's wife and daughter.
