In a strategic move signaling a renewed bid for leadership in the anti-BJP opposition alliance INDIA (India National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), Nitish Kumar has reassumed control of Janata Dal (United). The JD(U) leadership, evidently dissatisfied with Nitish's exclusion from the opposition alliance's prominent role, swiftly labeled him the convener and the 'prime minister of ideas' of the INDIA bloc.

Emphasizing the need for experienced and capable leadership, JD(U) put forth a clear message to other INDIA parties through its political resolution passed today. The resolution called on larger parties within the alliance to "show a big heart" for the alliance's success, urging generosity in assigning responsibilities based on experience and capabilities.

"The JD(U) believes that bigger parties in the alliance have more responsibilities. They will have to show a big heart to make this grand alliance successful. They will have to be generous if any leader has to be given the responsibility as per experience and capabilities," stated the party.

This move to propel Nitish Kumar into the leadership role of the INDIA bloc comes in response to a proposal suggesting Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the prime ministerial face of the opposition alliance. During the previous INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi, Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal had proposed Kharge's name, a proposition that Nitish Kumar accepted but left several JD(U) leaders displeased.

Highlighting Nitish Kumar's leadership credentials and ability to unite diverse factions, the JD(U) political resolution positions him as the alliance's architect. It states, "Nitish ji symbolizes the hope of the backward, extremely backward, deprived, minorities, and crores of unemployed youths."

This renewed push for Nitish Kumar's leadership in the INDIA bloc underlines the party's dedication to projecting him as the rightful leader, emphasizing his past efforts in unifying regional parties against the BJP. Nitish Kumar's return to the forefront of JD(U) showcases a calculated move to assert his influence and role within the broader opposition alliance.
