NO MORE COVID POSTERS – DELHI HC

4TH OCTOBER 2020

The Hon’ble Delhi High Court in the PIL Petition has laid down the direction to the Delhi Government to waive the method of affixing the poster of the Covid 19 patient outside the house of the Patient if the patient is treated with Home Isolation.

The Court further held that such an act of authority is arbitrary and is in violation of article 21 of India's Constitution. The Hon’ble High Court held that publishing the patient's disease by mode of posters is a violation of the right to privacy under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

The Hon’ble High Court further held that such an act of authority might trigger the patient with another mental trauma. Due to disease detection like covid 19, the patient already suffers from immense mental trauma, or mental stress, such as authority may worsen the patient's health.
