PETITION IN DELHI HIGH COURT, WANTING CASE TO BE REGISTERED AGAINST MEHBOOBA MUFTI FOR INSULTING NATIONAL FLAG

A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who made a controversial statement of not wanting to fly the tricolour.
It has been alleged in the Petition that Mehbooba Mufti said that the Indian Government that ‘dacoits snatched our flag’. In this statement, it is quite clear that she is using this derogatory and instigating statement against the duly elected Indian Government. It is an inciting statement which intends to create hatred and unrest among the communities and waging war against the duly elected government of this country as she is an influential and public personality,” claimed the Petitioner.
Hence, it attracts the provision under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and U/s 121, 153, 153A, 295, 298, 504 & 505 of the I.P.C
