PLEA BEFORE SC PRAYING ASSISTANCE TO INDIAN CITIZENS IN UKRAINE

A public interest litigation has been filed before the Apex Court, seeking directions to be issued to the Central government to assist Indian citizens/students stranded in Ukraine in light of the ongoing Russian invasion.

Vishal Tiwari, the petitioner, requested the Top Court directions to the Centre to ensure that stranded Indian citizens get emergency supplies like food, medical facilities, housing, and lodging.

The Petitioner also said that the Indian government failed to take steps to direct Indians to return to India from Ukraine when the situation of the war (had) arisen 10 days before. The petitioner further said that the  Central Government was very well aware that a war will arise in the future between Ukraine and Russia.

Surprisingly, the petitioner prayed that the MBBS degree of Indian students who studied in Ukraine and took virtual classes should be recognized in India.
