Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of simplifying laws for the common people during the International Lawyer's Conference 2023 in New Delhi. He expressed his commitment to draft laws in simple Indian languages to ensure accessibility.

PM Modi stated, "Mere paas bahut samay hai abhi (I have a lot of time to do this)." He highlighted the significance of language in the legal process and its role in delivering justice. He proposed producing laws in two ways: one draft in the traditional legal language and another in a language understandable to the common man.

"The second draft will be in a language which the country's common man can understand. He should consider the law his own," PM Modi said, addressing the legal fraternity.

He praised the legal community for their historical role in upholding India's justice system and their contributions to the country's independence. Notable figures like Mahatma Gandhi, BR Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were lawyers, he noted.

PM Modi congratulated the Supreme Court for translating orders into regional languages, stating that it would greatly benefit the common man. He stressed the need for a strong and independent judiciary in India.

During the conference, PM Modi called for international collaboration to establish a global framework for addressing cybercrime and global terrorism. He emphasized the importance of countries working together in areas such as artificial intelligence and cyber terrorism.

"For the development of any nation, the role of the judiciary in that country is crucial, and the Indian judiciary has always upheld the rule of law," PM Modi concluded.
