PROVIDE 7.5K MONTHLY MONETARY ASSISTANCE TO WOMAN WHO WAS TRANSFUSED WITH HIV+ BLOOD

The Madras High Court Bench of Justice N. Kirubakaran and Justice B. Pugalendhi ordered the State Government to provide the sum of Rs 7,500/- per month as financial assistance to an infected woman HIV-infected blood at a government hospital. As per the report of 'The Hindu,' the 23-year-old pregnant woman had tested positive for HIV after transfusing a donor's blood who had the virus. This incident occurred at a government hospital in Sattur, Tamil Nadu, in the year 2018. Three employees who were responsible for the collection of blood were suspended.
The court ordered to pay women a sum of Rs. 25 lakhs as compensation. A certificate was produced from the Doctor attached to the Government Hospital, Sathur, affirming that the victim was spending a sum of Rs.250/- to Rs.300/- per day for nutrition to boost up her immunity. In response to this, the Court ordered the Government to provide her 7500/- monthly.
