SUPREME COURT STAYS ORDER OF CBI PROBE DIRECTED AGAINST THE UTTARAKHAND CM

The Supreme Court has granted stay on the order passed by Uttarakhand High Court for a CBI probe into corruption allegations against Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the court said that it was passed without hearing him and is in violation of natural justice.
The corruption allegations charged by two journalists with regard to the money transferred into the accounts of relatives of Rawat in 2016 with reference to the appointment of the head of 'Gau Seva Ayog' of Jharkhand when Rawat was the head of Jharkhand BJP unit.
The Supreme Court said such adverse orders passed by the high court without hearing the Chief Minister had taken everybody by surprise ,furthermore, there was no prayer to lodge an FIR against Rawat. The court further held that the state was not a party and all of a sudden, an FIR was ordered and such a drastic order was passed taking everybody by surprise.
