Telangana's War Of Words Intensifies: KTR Challenges Konda Surekha's Slanderous Remarks With Legal Notice

The Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao has served Konda Surekha with legal notices for her "Baseless and Defamatory" remarks.

Following a continuing verbal spat between the Congress and BRS leaders regarding the alleged trolling of Forest and Environment Minister Konda Surekha a few days ago, legal letters have been sent. While some BRS officials expressed regret for the offensive social media remarks, Congress insisted that Mr. KTR issue an unequivocal apology.

During a news conference on Wednesday, Ms. Surekha made grave accusations against the BRS working President. These included claims of phone tapping while he was a minister and remarks made about some
Telugu film industry figures.

In his notice, Mr. KTR stated that the Minister's remarks contained disparaging remarks and were purely intended to damage his reputation by bringing up irrelevant people.

He conveyed his dissatisfaction with Ms. Surekha's exploitation of actors' names to advance her political goals. She claimed that the BRS commander was a drug addict who used celebrities as leverage. The father of Naga Chaitanya, well-known Tollywood star Akkineni Nagarjuna, responded angrily to the minister's remarks. Noting that this slander has been widely disseminated in the media and on social media platforms, he called attention to the evil motive behind such actions.

Mr. KTR ordered in his legal notification that Ms. Surekha immediately take down her remarks and apologise publicly for disseminating false information. He threatened to file a defamation lawsuit and initiate criminal proceedings to hold her responsible for her remarks if she did not issue an apology within the next 24 hours.
