THE RESTRICTION IMPOSED WILL NOT BE A BARRIER TO THE DELIVERY OF VACCINATION
18th April 2021
The union ministry ensured by writing to the states/UTs that restrictions imposed by the government for curbing covid spread would not affect the supply of vaccination. As per the letter, it has been advised that because of the curfew and the movement of beneficiaries, the vaccination services should not be affected.
The orders mentioned, "Similarly those CVCs which have been identified as dedicated COVID-19 hospitals should continue providing uninterrupted COVID-19 vaccination services". Vaccines should be provided in a different building from those distinctly separated from the covid ward. The letter also reads, "This will ensure that beneficiaries of vaccination are not inadvertently exposed to COVID-19 hospitals".
According to the health ministry, the death toll from covid cases was 1,501 in 24hrs and over 2.61 lakh new cases on Sunday. The active number of cases in the country stands at 18, 01,316.
