Background
On January 5, during Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab, his convoy was stuck on a flyover for twenty minutes. It is alleged that his vehicle was blocked after some protesters allegedly blocked the road. The Bharatiya Janata Party blamed the Congress government in Punjab for the security breach.
Thereafter, a plea was filed by an organization named Lawyers Voice, who sought suspension of Punjab Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. It also prayed that the SC should take cognizance of the matter.
