Case: Govansh Sewa Sadan & Anr v UOI

Bench: bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Abhay S Oka

The Supreme Court of India refused to consider a plea seeking directions to the Center to declare cow as the national animal. Govan Sewa Sadan, the petitioner, was told by the bench that it is not the Court's job to decide such matters and also asked which fundamental right of the petitioner was affected, to which the petitioner's counsel responded that cow protection is a critical issue.

The Court chose to withdraw the matter and refused to entertain the plea.
