The application procedure for CLAT begins in the first week of January 2022, with the Application Form is available for aspirants to fill out and register online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Applications close by the second week of March 2022. Admit cards for the examination will be available in the third week of April 2022. The examination will be held on the 8th of May 2022. Students will receive their results by the fourth week of June 2022. Following this, counseling will begin by the first week of July 2022.

Step by Step Procedure to Apply for the CLAT 2022 

The CLAT 2022 is of paramount significance, to begin with, your legal education. While scoring well in this challenging examination may seem like a Herculean feat to accomplish, well-prepared candidates need not worry. Let us walk through the application process:

Applicants must visit the official website for the CLAT 2022 - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Select the relevant CLAT 2022 link to access the registration panel, which will be displayed once admission is announced in January 2022. Click on the "Register" link to fill out the CLAT 2022 form with your name, email ID, and mobile number and submit these details. The applicant will soon receive an OTP via the registered number and email ID. The applicant can complete the registration process by entering the OTP on the CLAT 2022 login page. 

Following this, candidates will be granted access to the application form for the CLAT 2022. This form consists of 5 sections as follows: 

  • Personal Information 

 This requires applicants to enter their full name, date of birth, gender, father's full name, mother's full name, category, nationality, residential status, and, in case applicable, NRI category status. Additionally, they must upload their signature and a recent passport size photograph as specified. 

  • Communication Details 

 Under this section, applicants must fill in the address to their permanent residence and their correspondence address, followed by their contact number and email ID. Remember to save each page's details before proceeding to the next section. 

  • Qualifying Examination Details 

Here, candidates need to fill in their education history. For the Undergraduate CLAT, the 10th and 12th-grade details are needed, while candidates applying for LLM must also include their graduation details and the school information. The education details needed are listed as follows:

  3. Passing status - Appearing/Appeared or Passed

  • Exam Center Preference 

In their order of preference, applicants will be given the option to choose any three examination centers for the CLAT 2022 out of the plethora of cities across India that conduct the examination. The CLAT is held in over 80 cities, giving applicants the convenience of selecting the nearest possible option as their exam center. 

  • Reservation 

Domicile reservations are being offered by a majority of the national law universities, permitting candidates to select their reservation status, provided they are eligible for the reservation offered by any of the National Law Universities. All the CLAT-affiliated universities currently offer domicile reservations except for NLU Jodhpur. All applicants for domicile or any other form of case reservation must provide a valid document attesting to the same issued by the competent authority.  

Finally, once all these sections have been filled and double-checked, candidates must sign the declaration box and submit the application form. 

The last step to the application procedure is the Fee Payment for the CLAT 2022. The application fee is generally INR 4000, INR 3500 for all SC, and ST applicants. This amount must be submitted via online payment by the candidate, using a credit card, debit card, or net banking services.
