Whoever causes death by doing an act with the intention of causing death, or with the intention of causing such bodily injury as is likely to cause death, or with the knowledge that he is likely by such act to cause death, commits the offense of culpable homicide.

IPC Section 299: Explained In Simple Terms

If someone causes another person's death either by intending to kill them, intending to hurt them in a way that could lead to death, or knowing that their actions could likely result in death, they are committing the crime of culpable homicide. This means that the person acted with a significant degree of awareness or intention regarding the potential fatal outcome of their actions.
