A POLICE CONSTABLE AND HIS BROTHER BOOKED FOR ASSAULTING A DOCTOR IN COVID 19 CENTRE

A police constable, Sachin Gaikwad and his brother Sagar Gaikwad, residents of Aundh, booked on Tuesday for assaulting a doctor. The Chatuhsrungi police arrested and presented Sagar Gaikwad before the court, and the Court ordered him to be remanded in Magisterial custody.

A relative of the brothers was admitted at the covid centre of PMC at Baner, where Dr Maskar works as a medical manager. Dr Maskar, in his complaint, stated that when he was in his cabin, Sagar started abusing him and other staffs of the covid centre. Due to the gravity of the situation, Sagar was taken to police Chowki. Sagar and his brother started thrashing him and the staff members on reaching the police chowki.

Sachin Gaikwad (40), the police constable, applied for anticipatory bail before the sessions court.
