CENTRAL TOLD THE DELHI HC THAT WHATSAPP IS OBTAINING TRICK CONSENT FROM ITS USERS

The Central Government told the Delhi HC that the Facebook-owned company indulges in anti-user practices by obtaining trick consent from the users. The central government further claimed that Whatsapp plans to transfer the entire user base to update the new 2021 privacy policy before the personal data protection bill becomes a law.

In addition, the central government stated that the users, who have not accepted the 2021 privacy policy, are being bombarded with such notification every day.

Lastly, these notifications are against section 4 of the Competition Act.
