DELHI DISTRICT COURT DENIES BAIL TO WIFE OF DECEASED

On Tuesday, the Delhi District Court denied bail to accused Apoorva  Shukla Tiwari, the main accused in the murder case of former Congress leader ND Tiwari’s son Rohit Shekhar.

Rohit Shekhar, the son of former Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh chief minister ND Tiwari, was allegedly murdered on the intervening night of April 15-16. Accused arrested in connection with this case on April 24. Delhi Police has claimed in the charge-sheet that Apoorva killed Rohit Shekhar.

While dismissing the accused's bail application, the Learned Court held that the accused's position and status have to be considered since the accused was married to the deceased and hence is a part of the family.

Furthermore, the court held that many pubic witnesses associated with the family of the deceased are yet to be examined and the accused is definitely in a position to influence the public witness.
