DELHI HC ISSUED SUMMON TO RAMDEV BABA OVER SPREADING FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT PATANJALI AYURVED'S CORONIL
The Delhi HC issued summon to Ramdev Baba over a suit filed by the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) seeking to restrain Ramdev from spreading false information regarding Patanjali Ayurved's Coronil.
The DMA also sought interim relief after alleging the Patanjali Ayurved's Baba is causing harm to them and indirectly to the public through his statements against medical science and doctors. However, Justice C Hari Shankar refused to grant any interim relief. The court said that the practice of allopathy is not so fragile or brittle that an injunction was required against a person speaking against it. Moreover, this case would attract section 91 (1) of the CPC, which would require the permission of the AG or the leave of the Court to maintain a suit.
The court also said that Ramdev is a person who believes everything can be cured by Yoga and Ayurveda.
Lastly, the Court refused to grant interim relief after Adv for Ramdev raised issues on the maintainability of the suit. The Court also sent a summons to YouTube, Twitter and Aastha channels.
