Tata Motors Limited, a leading global automobile manufacturer, will have to shell out Rs 200 Crore for unregistered properties located on Talco Road in the twin towns.

 

In a recent survey, PCMC identified 19,648 unregistered properties and initiated action against owners who failed to register. The civic body aims to collect Rs 350 Crore from property tax defaulters.

 

The company constructed on eight hectares without registering. Structures include car parking shed, canteen and other sheds. PCMC came to know about the details of the extended properties as per the documents submitted by TML.

 

PCMC issued a show-cause regarding the same to the company. However, an official statement from the TML stated that it did not receive any show-cause notice from PCMC in connection with its properly at Bhosari. TML further said that TML has been paying property tax to PCMC with respect to the said property.

 

PCMC issued 5,325 notices to unregistered properties to date and is still in the process of issuing more. There are approximately 5,50,000 registered properties under the limits of PCMC. PCMC has observed that properties are increasing, but revenue is not rising.

 

In a survey conducted by PCMC through a private agency, it has been found thy 19,648 properties are unregistered for various reasons.
