MP HC DIRECTED A MENTAL CHECK UP TO A LAWYER WHO ALLEGEDLY SENT OBJECTIONABLE GREETINGS TO A LADY JUDGE

The MP HC directed a mental check-up of a lawyer who allegedly sent objectionable greetings to a lady Judge on her official mail ID.

"It has transpired that prima facie the applicant is a married person with four children but is alleged to have indulged in highly unethical activity unbecoming of an advocate while causing embarrassment to a lady judge through WhatsApp and on social media portals. It appears expedient to direct for his mental checkup through a qualified Doctor or a psychiatrist and submit the report before this Court".

Background

The bail applicant is a practising district court Ratlam Adv and allegations against him is that he sent indecent birthday greetings to a lady Judge on her official government email ID. It was also submitted that on various occasions, he tried to contact and initiate a conversation with the Judge. Adv Vijay took a print of a cover photo from her FB ID and created a card out and wrote a filthy language quote. He sent the forged card to her courtroom through a speed post. Subsequently, the Judge complained u/s 420, 464, 468, 469 of IPC and sec 67 and 41 of the IT Act. The lower court rejected Adv Vijay's bail plea and thereafter his family approached the Indore bench for bail.
