NO RECORD OF DEATHS OF FARMERS WHO PROTESTED AGAINST THE FARM LAWS - CENTRE TO THE PARLIAMENT
The Central Government informed the winter session parliament that it has no record of deaths of farmers who protested against the three contentious Farm laws. Hence they are not liable to provide compensation to the families of the deceased.
The Minister of Agriculture of Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, was answering a question regarding the deaths of farmers during the protest and whether the center intends to provide compensation to the families of such farmers.
Although the center has decided to repeal the Farm Laws, the farmers have said that they will not stop the protest unless their demands, including compensation to the families of the farmers, are fulfilled.
As per the farmers' organizations, around 700 farmers died during the protests.
