PIL MOVED TO SC SEEKING PRESIDENT'S RULE UNDER ARTICLE 356 IN WEST BENGAL

The India Collective Trust has moved a petition to the SC seeking a declaration that the constitutional machinery in West Bengal has broken down so that the President's rule can be imposed in the state under Article 356 of the Constitution.
The plea has been moved by Adv J Sai Deepak, urging the court to deploy CRPF armed forces to restore law and order in the state. The Plea also prayed to constitute an SIT to look into the involvement of politicians, if any.
The Petition has been filed in the wake of violence across the state by the followers of TMC against BJP members. The Petition further mentioned the distributing news reports, images, articles, gang rape, kidnapping, loot, vandalism towards the members and supporters of the BJP party. There have been instances of heinous crimes, including the bombing of localities, murders, violations against the modesty of women, riotous looting, and kidnap.
The Petitioner further states that urgent reliance is being sought as the state government has failed in controlling the aftermath of the elections. These instants are crating unimaginable fear in the minds of citizens.
In the light of failure by the state government, the apex court is prayed to grant relief.
