SHORTAGE OF REMDISIVER THOUGH THERE ARE MANY MANUFACTURING COMPANIES
27th April
A plea filed by a lawyer suffering from coronavirus has mentioned that he could not get doses of Remdisiver. Out of six doses, he had only received three.
The court said that several companies in India are manufacturing the medicine, and the drug is being exported, which results in the shortage of medicine and catering to our patients.
"Statistics show that shortage of the drug in Delhi is acute," said the court. The court asked the centre's Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) that whether there has been any change in the guidelines regarding the drug and also asked the centre on what basis it was determined that how much drug should be transferred to Delhi and whether anyone can directly approach the manufacturing companies or suppliers to buy the drug.
The court directed the Delhi government to supply the remaining three vials by 9 pm tonight to the petitioner.
The hearing will be held on Thursday.
