SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT'S FATHER MOVE DELHI HC SEEKING BAN ON RELEASE OF ANY MOVIE ON SON'S LIFE
20th April 2021
Delhi HC - Justice Manoj Kumar Ohti issued a notice on a petition by the late Sushant Singh Rajput father. He moved to Delhi, HC seeking a ban on the release of movies based on the actor's life.
The Petition contended that people are taking his son's death as an opportunity to gain fame by developing different theories. Various films, Web series, book and interviews such as Nyay: the justice, suicide or murder, Shashank; if published, would harm Sushant's reputation, including his family. He also states that none of the makers came to the plaintiff to obtain consent for the same. He further alleged there is a willful breach of the fundamental right of privacy, including the right to publicity. Misuse of Sushant's name amounts to infringement of his personality rights amounting to passing off.
Singh further stated that such movies might influence the pending investigation.
