A Delhi Court rejected the bail of a woman accused of kidnapping her employer's child to recover her wages. The Court rejected the plea on account of the seriousness of the alleged crime. "Even if the woman kidnapped the child to recover her wage, still by no stretch of the imagination, it should be done. "There are certain counterclaims from both the parties about whether she demanded her wage or more money. which shall be dealt with during the trial."

Additional Sessions Judge Samar Vishal noted that the woman might be a flight risk as she had no permanent residence in Delhi. Therefore, at the present stage, this is a no case for bail. The Court was informed that she worked as domestic help in the house of the complainant. After kidnapping the child, she went to Alwar, Rajasthan. Thereafter, she sent messages to the complainant demanding payment of her wages and threatened them with terrible consequences, including killing the child if her wage was not paid.

Counsel appearing for the complainant as well as the public prosecutor opposed the bail application contending that she had committed a grave offense, which was punishable with the death penalty. Moreover, her intention was clear from the messages she sent.

Counsel appearing for the woman submitted that she is the only breadwinner for the family, and she had left her parental home in 2018 to earn money.
