The chief of Hindu Sena has sought prosecution sanction from Delhi's LG against the President of the Tamil Nadu-based political party Makkal Needhi Maiam, Kamal Hasan. According to the complaint, he addressed a huge gathering of the Muslim population while campaigning from the Aravakurichi Assembly constituency for the 17th General Election on the 12th May, where he made the following derogatory remark, 'I am not saying this because many Muslims are here. I am saying this in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue. The first terrorist in independent India is a Hindu; his name is Nathuram Godse'.

The complaint said that the intention behind the derogatory statement was criminal and to promote feelings of animosity and hatred between Hindu and Muslims. This complaint has been filed under section 153A, and 295A of the Indian Penal Code at the Patiala High Court and the hearing is fixed on 4th June 2021.
