THE MADRAS HC GRANTED BAIL TO AN ACCUSED BOOKED FOR ATTACKING AN ADVOCATE

BACKGROUND
In June 2019, the accused was a client of the Advocate (who was attacked); the accused requested to send a legal notice to someone and also paid for it, but the adv failed to issue the legal notice in time.
The accused paid Rs 20000 to accused no. 2 to assassinate the Advocate. Accused no. 2 on June 2019 around 8 pm called the adv and asked him to meet near Uthukuli road to discuss a case. As soon as the adv reached the spot, he was attacked by 2 men on a motorcycle with a wooden log, with an intention to kill him. The adv managed to escape and filed an FIR against the two unknown people on the motorcycle.
DECISION
The HC ruled that the act took place in 2019, and the co-accused who were arrested were released on bail. The final investigation report has also been filed. Hence, anticipatory bail can be granted to the Petitioner.
