Concerned over the Covid 19 situations in Uttarakhand, The Uttarakhand HC directed the State Government to take measures and steps to control the inflow of tourists. The Bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Alok Verma stressed DELTA VARIANT VIRUS in the state. The Bench said that the Delta Variant may get introduced in the state due to many tourists in the state.

 

The Bench further directed the State Government to review its decision of relaxing Covid 19 restrictions during the weekend.

 

The Court issued the following directions to the Government:

  1. The Court directed the Secretary, Medical Health and Family Welfare to inform the Court about the samples sent and received to and from the NCDC. And what steps will be taken, either by the District Magistrate or the Health officers of districts, if any citizens suffer from Delta variant?
  2. Inform the Bench about the number of MRI machines in Government hospitals. And whether these machines are made available to every Government hospital or not.
  3. Inform the court with regards to pediatric wards, beds and ventilators in the Government Hospitals and other private hospitals in the state.
  4. Information regarding the place of vaccination in the state and the number of people who received their 1st or/and 2nd dose.
  5. The court directed the State to carry expeditious vaccination to older people and physically challenged people. 
  6. Lastly, inform the court about the decision regarding tightening of Covid 19 lockdown.

 

The Court directed the submit the report on 26 July 2021.
