TWO MONTHS AFTER A BODY FROM KHED WENT MISSING WAS FOUND NEAR CHASKAMAN DAM - PUNE

Two months after a body from Khed went missing, it was found near Chaskaman dam. The Police arrested the deceased's wife along with her boyfriend and three of the boyfriend's friends from Mumbai.

The Pune Rural police arrested the five for plotting and executing the murder of Somnath Sutar. The plan was hatched by the deceased's wife named Sonal with her lover Rama and his three friends - Akshay, Sameer and Sunil.

Satish Gurav, Senior Police Inspector of Khed police headquarters, said that Sonal and Rama had an affair for the last 3 years. The deceased was addicted to alcohol and taking advantage of the same; the accused invited Somnath for a drink and strangled him once he got drunk. After he died, they threw him in the Backwater of Chaskanan. On the same night, 26th June, Sonal filed a missing report at Khed PS. The police found the body in water 22km away from Khed. They sent it for an autopsy, but the post mortem could not find the cause of death.

Satish Gaurav said that when they extracted call details of the accused, it was found that Sonal and Rama talked for hours. Moreover, the trio confessed to their crimes when they were arrested in Mumbai. Assistant Police Inspector said that the wife hatched the plan to kill him due to the deceased's habitual drinking and beating habits.
