TWO WOMEN ALLEGEDLY RAPED BY TMC WORKERS - MOVED TO THE APEX COURT
Two women, a 64-year-old woman and a 17-year-old minor, allegedly raped by TMC workers/supporters during the post-election violence, reached the Apex Court seeking SIT/CBI probe in the West-Bengal post-election violence.
The impediment was sought in a plea seeking SIT/CBI inquiry into killings of two BJP activists alleged at the instance of TMC workers/supporters.
The 17-year-old contended in her application that on 9th May, four TMC workers/supporters allegedly raped her one by one for an hour. The accused said our party (TMC) have won, and now let's teach her a lesson for supporting BJP. The applicant further said that the TMC workers/member came to her house and threatened to destroy her farm and family if she escalated the matter.
The 64-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped by TMC workers/supporters, sought safety for her family's life and liberty and sought justice for the crime committed against her body. The applicant stated that five workers/supporters entered her house, handcuffed her and raped her in front of her 6-year-old grandson. She further said that this is an example of the post-election violence by the TMC workers/supporters/leaders against citizens who did not support their party. The applicant also said that the local police failed their job as they only mentioned one name in the FIR, whereas the applicant named all the accused.
