On 9th March 2021, The Patna High Court had constituted a committee of three female advocates for inspection and examination of sanitary conditions of the toilets of some of the listed girls' educational institutions in Patna.

On 24th March, an inspection report was submitted to the Patna High Court stating the current scenario and operating conditions of the infrastructure and toilets of the educational institutions.

While hearing the matter, the two judges bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S. Kumar were presented the photographs to show the exact conditions of toilets of the government schools. The court observed,

"The condition only depicts that the place is unsuitable to be used even by Animals. From the presented report, it is apparent that there is a clear lack of infrastructure, toilets and also shows there is ill-maintenance."

The court further added that,

"In most educational institutions, sanitary vending and disposal machines have yet not been installed, as evident from the records."

The court immediately directed the Principal Secretary of the Education Department to look into the matter and deal with other issues and deficiencies mentioned in the report of the Committee.
